Fixing Stage / Pre-Paint Inspection

The Fix Stage or Pre-Paint Inspection is a great opportunity to identify any irregularities, incomplete/substandard works or areas of non-compliance prior to painters starting. If you have completed Frame and Lockup Inspections generally by this stage all walls and ceilings should be well connected, be straight, plumb and parallel.

However, plaster board can be poorly installed with bows and poorly finished joints, door jambs can be installed out of plumb/square, architraves and skirting boards can be poorly fitted with bows, insufficient fixing and inconsistent margins! Reworking of defective areas is far easier to complete prior to painters starting rather than having to pull walls apart once they have had a final coat of paint.

This is also a really good time to further inspect all other completed external and internal works including cabinetry, waterproofing, brickwork and cladding installation.
